Road Trip to St. Louis: Fun-Filled Girls’ Weekend Itinerary

St. Louis, Missouri, lies in the southern region of the Midwest, making it an accessible road trip destination from many major US cities–under 5 hours from Chicago, Kansas City, Memphis, and Indianapolis, alone.

With summer in full swing, it’s the perfect city to grab the girls and spend a weekend away in. It offers a balance of nightlife, spa experiences, and mouth-watering meals.

Botanicals & Bliss

At the Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis, you’ll find 12 treatment rooms that will invite you in for a relaxing afternoon. Along with whirlpools, steam rooms, saunas, and views of the Gateway Arch, you’ll find plenty of à la carte or bundled package options. For example, the Unwind Package includes a 50-minute Swedish massage and 50-minute custom facial. What a fantastic way to either begin or end a weekend with the girls!

Once you’ve pampered yourself at the spa, the Missouri Botanical Garden is the next best stop to take a peaceful stroll accompanied by more than 27,000 plants and flowers. It’s open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, plus there are extended evening hours on Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

If you’d rather let the professionals do the dancing, perhaps go to see a burlesque show at The Boom Boom Room–the largest burlesque club in the country. With a variety of acts, there’s something that will excite and dazzle just about everyone.

The Fabulous Fox is a historic theater designed in the Siamese-Byzantine style, with 4,500 seats that invite you to sit and experience a Broadway production. Snatch a block of tickets, and you’ll be sure to be belting catchy tunes all the way back to your hotel room. (Shhh, just try not to wake the neighbors!)

Savor the Flavors of St. Louis

No girls’ trip is complete without a worthy food & drink itinerary. Start the day at Maypop Coffee & Garden Shop, where plant girlies can get their fix while sipping on espresso. It doubles as a fun activity, too, as you can participate in creating a terrarium to bring home. To top it off, it’s located in a charming two-story, red-brick house–here’s where you can pose for your group photo!

At La Pâtisserie Chouquette, pastry chef and owner Simone Faure will give you the most delectable sugar rush with an array of cream puffs, morning buns, and canelés, as well as decadent twists on classics like brownies and cheesecakes. Here’s your chance to treat yourself with French pastries and show some love to a woman-owned business.

To end a long day, grab a round of cocktails in the Grand Hall at St. Louis Union Station.

Watch a 3D light show dance around on the Tiffany glass and historic frescoes while you enjoy a drink and a quick bite. It’s an incredible and one-of-a-kind experience specific to St. Louis.
